Our process
We don't refinish decks. We restore them: stripping away years of weathering to bare wood, then protecting what's underneath with methods built to last through Ontario winters. Here's exactly how we do it, step by step.
01 — Prep & Power Wash
A deck doesn't fail overnight. Years of sun, rain, and Ontario freeze-thaw cycles break down the finish until the wood itself starts to grey and splinter. We don't paint over that damage. We blast it off completely. High-pressure washing removes old stain, surface mould, and weathered grey fibre. The deck arrives at clean wood, ready for what comes next.

02 — Deep Sand
Power washing cleans. Sanding transforms. We sand every board down to bare, open grain. This isn't a scuff for adhesion. It's a full pass that removes any remaining stain, smooths raised fibres, and opens the wood so the stain penetrates deep rather than sitting on the surface. This step is what separates a job that lasts years from one that peels in months.

03 — Stain & Seal
We hand-apply premium oil-based stain, engineered for lakeside conditions and Canadian climate extremes, working it into the grain, not just across it. Once the stain has cured, a high-performance sealer locks in the colour and creates a weather barrier that flexes with the wood through every freeze and thaw. The result: a deck that looks beautiful and stays that way.

Why bare wood
Only bare-wood restoration ensures stain bonds deep into the grain, for seasons, not weeks. We skip no steps. Every inch is prepped, sanded, and sealed to weather Ontario's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking, peeling, or lifting.
